You can go to a mall with a Dell Kiosk and order it there. But it still will be sent by mail.

Ask your local book store or stationery store (or five-and-dime) to order one for you. If you can bring in a print-out description from one of the on-line catalogs, it will do two things: 1) Give them an exact description of what you want and 2) Make them realize that these things are AVAILABLE, and that they may lose a customer if they won't order it for you.

I'd really play up angle two -- how you want to support local business. I wouldn't threaten to order from the internet, though.

If they still won't listen to you, do you ever get to a "big city"? You could e-mail the shops there, and ask them to make a special order for you. It sounds like you may be younger, and may have to ask your parents to drop you off, but if you can co-ordinate that, it should only take five minutes to pick up your notebooks once you are in the City.

BTW, I really liked your answer to the girl with the contacts problem! It's true -- you have to do what you'll be proud of later.
