If you have a PhD in physics you are probably going to be in a field you love. That is a great plus that no amount of money can ever out do. Still you will probably be making in the field of $70,000+ at a university, and even more if you are working for a corporation.

If you are looking for fantastic pay, then your best bet is to become a doctor, lawyer or a small business owner. All those people can make much more money than a physicist.
