I would get a book on anatomy or take a mirror & have a look yourself. There are 2 openings one is for urine & the other is where you insert your tampon into the vagina. I would have a talk with your mom, sister or a close friend & get some info.
before you start using tampons. As someone mentioned, leaving a tampon in for a long time can be dangerous.

You just go. Your urethra (where you pee out of) is a tiny opening above your vagina (where the tampon goes). So remember to follow the instructions on the tampon pack and you'll be fine. We're not men, thank goodness, so we're built differently.

Having a tampon in shouldn't be a problem- urine comes out of the urethra, while tampons go into the vagina.

Your question has pretty well been covered, but I want to remind you not to wear one for over 8 hours. Read up on Toxic Shock Syndrome. Also, read the information sheet from the tampon box.

you just go. your urethra is not the same as your vagina. they are just really close. so using a tampon doesn't affect how or when you go to the bathroom. there is a pamphlet with your box of tampons. i suggest reading it. its good info, especially for a first time user of tampons

you can go to the bathroom, since urine and menstrual fluids
come from different places. if you wish to use the bathroom with a tampon in, just hold the string out of the way. :]

just sit and go as normal. the urine doesnt interfere with that. just dont forget to change it every 4 hrs. make sure you never forget one and if you happen to get dizzy from one, its most likely to be an allergic to the material its made of. just experiment and you'll be fine. send me emails if you wish. i'll discuss this with you. and congrats!!! they're better than pads. and cleaner. do not reuse them like the ppl say. it causes bad infections. it wont absorb the urine. the urine comes from another place which is lower than the tampon if its in correctly. get at me.

The tampon goes in your vagina. You urinate out your URETHRA and you have a bowel movement from your rectum/anus. Just hold the string out of the way when you urinate or dry it well. When you have a BM again hold the string out of the way.
