I believe you are asking about buying a car,of what age.
In BMW age does not count much.If u have money u buy the latest model/new.
If u want to buy to as per your budget,u can still find one.
Most BMW cars are owned by proper and careful people and cars been well taken care off.
So look for one which suits u.
even 20 years car u find in mint condition.
buy one soon.

Anyone who is a long time BMW fan, might agree with me when I say that Bangle (the chief designer) really Flubbed up all the new cars. The real 3 series ended in 2005. The real 5 series in 2003. And the Real 7 series in 2001. When each one of these models were redesigned they lost the quite elegance and became more over the top. Although I cant argue; the interiors and technology on the newer cars is amazing. A tech that works on my car an e39 (1997- 2003) 540i also told me that the older cars are put together a little better. It really all does matter on what you view to be the most attractive.

Most BMW owners hang on to the car they bought because they like the styling the best.

It is an individual thing, and can't be answered objectively.

I have a Z 3 that I love, but others may think it's ugly. I also have a convertible 323ci, but others may think it looks too big (for those who like the older BMW's), or too small (for those who like the newer ones).

Both of my cars are 2000's, but I like the old 70's and 80's styles, too.

And, forget the year...I like the Series 8 cars no matter what year they were made.

The answer is subjective. Buy what you like and don't worry about other people's opionion.

I personally like 2001 since the styling was different then compared to others. I have a 2001 BMW 325ci and I love it.

It's not really like wine where you have a good "vintage".

For BMWs or any other cars, the newest of course is the best. Better technology, handling, safety, fuel efficiency...etc.
