Looking for good history reading material, any time period....?

Question

from ancient times to recent history. I am fascinated on histroy and how man has evolved in terms of civilization. Also, interested in books that inolve the colonial times of America, our beginnings. Any suject will do though, thanks in advance

The most interesting period in history in my opinion at least, was during the time of Henry XIII. His reign, and the other people involved in that period of history including his Daughter Mary Tudor, is all very interesting, if you dig deep enough.

try reading biographies written by those people who have lived through a specific time. as an example read " To Hell and Back " written by Audie Murphy the most decorated soldier in WWII. He also starred in a movie by the same name, portraying himself.
