i bought the 360 with out the hard drive. can i play online with people like madden or nba online by using a memory card

you do not need a hard drive but i know for some games you need to have a hard drive.for example halo 2 you need a hard drive

I am having the same issue. It happens only when I sign into XBOX Live and play any game. Even the game's default game (which loads from inactivity) freezes the system. I was told by XBOX LIVE that anytime you drop a disc in, it starts to connect to EA. Even if a single player franchise. So, if true, connecting to EA is the issue. I spoke to the support rep (for the 20th time) and they said the freeze is a known issue and to check the forum. Sad reply but hopefully it is known and they are doing something about it. Let's keep up the inquiries to them so they don't gloss over it. Chatting later today with them.

I doubt it. You must have a hard drive to install the program. I pay the same game. If it is not installed you cannot participate in the game. Your memory card is a good thing to have, but does not replace your downloaded game.

I don't think so cuz I think you need the hardrive to keep a friends list and your online points, you know? you can buy a cheap hardrive from like GameStop and stuff..
