Glee Fan, to be honest that is a fairly long time to leave a 7 mo old by themselves. You are going to likely run into damage being done, due to her getting bored. Even if she does not tear/chew up anything you are going to have to do some major walking and/or playing with her. Small toy breeds seem to do a bit better about being home alone. Terriers and large dogs for whatever reason tend to get into trouble. I have 2 Jack Russell's that are almost 8yrs old, a MinPin that is 4yrs old. None of them to this day can be left alone for very long, But I have a Chihuahua that from the time I received him as a gift has stayed alone and never has touched any thing. At this point I would hope you are attached to your dog, so obviously you are going to have to make it work. I would say what about a crate (and no crating a dog is not mean). But 9 hrs is too long to keep a baby in a crate. Is there a neighbor that could come over half way through the 9 hrs and give the puppy some attention and a walk.? I do know at least where I live Doggy Day Care is rather expensive.God Bless ReggieR

actually, honestly, if you are sure a dog is going to bite you and just as it does bite you if your hand is extended and you are able to shove your hand down the dog's throat it may be the best thing you can possibly do because the dog will gage and back off

Not if you don't lose your middle finger that is your pointing finger. My teacher taught me that in fifth grade. True story.
