Bluetooth is a type of wireless technology that uses radio waves. The average distance for most home electronics using bluetooth is 30 feet.Unlike many t.v. remotes, a bluetooth remote could be used with the t.v. without pointing the remote at the t.v. and could be used while behind several walls.
Bluetooth is also used in the Playstation 3 console and is used with cellphone headsets. Also, bluetooth electronics tend to be more expensive and higher end than electronics that use Infrared technology.
