The Good, The Bad & The Ugly 1966 is my favorite. Ennio Morricone is a genius and even Metallica uses "The Ecstasy of Gold" for their concert intro.

Other honorable mentions include...

Grosse Pointe Blank
Less Than Zero
Pulp Fiction
Garden State
Heavy Metal
Swingers

It may not sound good...but the soundtrack from 10 Things I Hate About You is very catchy and versatile...full of upbeat songs, songs for when you're depressed, in love, etc. Also, the soundtrack from Now and Then is pretty good...lots of good old music.
