They got a new party leader who actually knows how to win. First you scream and moan about your opponent until no one can stand to even think about voting for him, then you hide your ideals and pretend that the other party hates America and wants to destroy it for personal gain. Basically he took what Republicans have been doing for decades and made Democrats start doing it also.

Well, they appear to be far from what JFK and Truman stood for. I think it began with LBJ and the Great Society. Which was really FDR's program on Steriods.
It has drifted farther left sibce. The new breed appears to have set a new standard for a Socialist leaning platform.

The trial lawyers and unions are giving less money to the party. The party has shifted out to the left fringes and started getting their funding from; the environmentalists, alternative lifestyle and anti-war crowd in general.

It seems to have attracted the racial minorities, financial deficients, sexual deviants and illegal sympathizers for followers. The leaders appear to be people that prey off others weaknesses, insecurities and greed.
Just an opinion. You could also ask about the Republican party and get a solid answer also.
Vote for Ron Paul.

The democrats are not liberals any more, now they are progressives, but I still call them liberals.
