As I was driving home before the inside of my windshield fogged up. I put on defrost (that turns on the a/c automatically) the inside unfogged and then the outside fogged up. Its was either one or the other. Any way for it to be neither. I have 2001 compact, so its not full of many special features.

You also need to turn the heat adjustment way up until the window is clear. The defrost position is turning on the air conditioner and blowing cold air on the windshield. If you select very hot it will not turn on the A/C and the defrost will be quick. After windshield is clear switch back to low temp and direct the air off the windshield and into the rest of the car again.

Try wiping the windshield and windows with RainX, which is available at most auto parts stores, some groceries and WalMart. It will eliminate part of the problem.

As another answerer wrote, try adding some heat to the defroster as that will eliminate some condensation. Thanks for the two points. Good luck!
