What your made up of, like your genes and DNA from your parents or how you were actually brought up affects your behaior and character the most.

Personality refers to distinctive, enduring characteristics or patterns of behavior. An individual's personality reveals itself through consistent behavior in a variety of situations.

DNA has nothing to do how a person behaves or acts.
DNA is about GENES not personality.

Freud's theory related childhood experiences determine adult personality.

I think that it's an interesting question- probably a combination of both. Behavior itself probably as much determined by what has been positively and negatively reinforced by one's environment, at home and in the outside world. Personality, on the other hand, I believe is largely determined by genetic forces..what you are born with. I also believe that motivation plays a key role in behavior, as well. This question of "nature vs. nurture" has been publicly theorized and debated as long as the study of psychology has been around, and still to this day we don't have all the answers. But we do know that both nature and nurture influence us.

Nurture. You learn from everything around you all the time. It's built into human nature that to survive, you learn.

Otherwise, how can drug addicts reform, or a terrible person find something worthwhile and give up all the wickedness that they had done?

I think it's a mixture of both. However, you can overcome your a lot of nature by hard work and trying to do better. A lot of people blame their surroundings (i.e. bad parents, single mom, etc.) on their own shortcomings and bad behavior. They should quite being lazy and looking for excuses and try to better themselves through hard work and education.

both affect your character but I personally believe that nuture can change a negative characteristic or behavior.

Temperament is hereditary. Behaviour is learned.
You start with what you are given naturally.
You are responsible for what you do with it.

1.Both are responssible,but weightage of biology is more.
