I am not sure they would even try since they never seemed to find the WMDs in Iraq. As much of an idiot as Bush is, I don't think they would even attempt that.
With the way our military is stretched thin, as far as man power, anyway, I don't foresee an invasion in the near future. At least not by our forces alone. This is actually the scary part, I think, because if the current administration does decide to take action, it would probably be by tactical strikes which could open the door for nuclear war. If this were to occur, Al Queda will have won.
Good question, though.
just a note to Larry...it's a MOOT point, not MUTE. Since this is text on a screen, all points are mute, regardless of validity or convolution.

Absolutely, I don't put anything past this administration. The Bush Crusades might very well make any excuse including allowing another incident here to invoke the sympathy of the gullibles and the ire of the Rapture Rights. They connected Iraq to Al Qaeda so why not Iran? Hell, they'll proclaim the Ayatollah and Bin Laden are sleeping together and Scooter Libby has pictures.
That's enough tonight for me...To all those who agree and those who don't, Dems, Reps, Libs, Cons, and Independents, I've had a great time on Y/A so you folks have a great night.

not likely...
with bush on his way out next year and the democrats controlling the house of representatives and congress
remember we are still taking casualties in afghanistan and the debacle in iraq
we are at a poor disadvantage right now considering that our armed forces are spread out too thin, with little or no support from our allies
iran and north korea knows this, that's why they're so bold when it comes to nuclear arms talk, they wouldn't have been so confident 10-15 years ago!

Why bother with logic and proof? Bush has never needed them before.
Yes, the law forbids Bush from unilaterally attacking Iran, but we've all seen how little respect Bush has for obeying the law.
And his lemming followers don't bother making distinctions based on fact or reality. The number of people who seem to think that 1.3 billion Muslims (20% of the world's population) are all conspiring together is ludicrous.
People still think we went into Iraq to fight Al Qaeda, when the Al Qaeda cell in Iraq didn't even form until 2 years after we go there -- accoring to US military and intelligence reports!
So,don't expect little things like facts or logic to get in the way of a good witch-hunt.

We don't need a pretext, Iran has been providing weapons and training to groups fighting us for over 3 years. Al Quada may hate the iranians, but they hate us more and both consider us the main enemy.

There will be no farther attempts to associate Al Qaeda with any particular country -- so -- this idea you mention here is mute !! Al Qaeda will simply be used to keep the Fear Factor in play with the American citizenry to keep them clinging to Big Daddy Sugar's pants leg for protection from the Big Bad Wolf at the door !!!!
The Iranian "thing" will come by way of some major "incident" whether real or manufactured (goggle up "false flag operations") -- and will be a direct cause to implement the thing that they have been building up for for quite some time !! I look for THIS incident to involve one of our Naval vessels at sea within the Persian Gulf !!
And, to those that don't think we have the personnel to DO this thing --- most of this operation (80% of it) will be accomplished by air strikes and it is my full expectation that in THIS one there will be tactical nuclear weapons used !!! There is no end to the madness that is afoot within this present set of lunatics at the top !!!!!!!

What has occurred to me is that the terrorist attack in England and Glasgow was attempted by immigrant doctors. I don't think the U.S. government has been scrutinizing this type of immigrant to the U.S. because they hadn't considered them to be a threat. Now there are many such immigrants in the U.S. and it will take some time to get the scoop on them. In the meantime, we are probably more vulnerable to attack.
