I want to talk to this guy but he's really shy so I know it will be hard to get a convo rolling. How do I approach him and make him feel comfortable and not go in his shell?

Wear low cut jeans without panties. Then pretend to accidentally drop something in front of him and bend over in such a way as to show him some major butt cleavage.

do a activity or something the will force you and him to talk and as the talking go's on start to flirt with him then at the end of the conversation get his number and call him that night and tell that you really like him and plan to go out again.

Use someone he is friends with to introduce you and present an issue. Even shy people have a shy friend.

Find out a hobby of his and start talking about it, that's how shy people open up.

Just talk to him by asking questions and make sure you seem REALLY interested in what he is saying. If he feels good about himself, he may open up more.

See if you can find out any of his interests. If not, ask him for help with something. Just be super easy to talk to.

If there is anything at all you know about him and his hobbies or things he enjoys then ask him about them. Computers, books, sports, movies, music, food, family, art, school or friends....... what he likes about it, how he feels when he does it, can he teach you how?
