In the absence of conflict, politics as an art and science would become meaningless.

Broadly, politics is the heading which covers all possible forms of human government, how we make and enforce laws, how communities and nations relate, etc. We are individuals with different experiences and views, and if we are ever to act as a community or as a nation, there must be some method of selecting between ideas.

Politics is the process of that selection. And so it will always be brutal. Totalitarianism purports to remove the brutality in the long run, and the conflict as well, but it has never yet succeeded. I believe it never will.

When there are multiple different ideas about what the best thing for this country is, there will be conflict. In our political system, it is nearly impossible for all of our representatives to agree on anything. That is a good thing.

Conflict is inherent in life. And in all stories worth reading. Groupthink is much more dangerous than conflict, in my book.

Because there's a Right way and a Wrong way.

The two sides are weighed and supposedly, BOTH come to an agreement as to the best course of action.

It's called democracy.

I wonder how many DEMOCRATS believe in democracy?
