i thought it was always gamecube network, since all over it the cube says "nintendo" before "gamecube" - and it kinda makes sense since it can hook up to the gameboy games, and/or the gameboy adapter

also the word network implies that several people can use it (and there is a port on the bottom for internet connections, as well) [yes, i'm aware that the systems before the gamecube could also support four players]

Yes, the Wii uses complete Gamecube hardware to play Gamecube games. The Wii is 100% compatible with Gamecube games. 1. Insert the Gamecube game into the disc drive. 2. Insert any Gamecube memory cards and Gamecube controllers into the top part of the Wii. 3. Click on the Disc Channel on your Wii Menu, press start, and use your Gamecube controller to control everything else after that.
