My best friend has been dating her boyfriend for two months longer than my husband and I have been together (which is over 2 years) and I never see her pick on him like couples do. In fact she STILL talks baby talk to him. I never did that in the first place quite frankly it sickens me but she still does and when she tells stories about him and he's not there, she suddenly goes into baby talk. I am quite confused. Does anyone else act this way with their s/o or is she just odd?

Some women who have low self esteem,
try to take on a non-threatening posture,
by talking like that, when it comes to any
interaction or conversation, about their s/o...
It doesn't ever work, but they will do it, till the
bomb drops anyway. I think they feel very
threatened, in some way, by their partner.
Be it mentally, or physically. They will turn
blue, before they will confess to it. Yes,she's odd.

....she just thinks a lot about her boyfriend. Nothing odd or wrong about that. They must have a good relationship. My husband and I have only been married for 6 years, but I still look at him through the same glass I did when we first married. I get giggly when I talk about him. I'm 37 and still feel like a high school kid at times when I'm waiting for him to get home or when we talk on the phone.
Be happy for your friend, that she's found someone to love like she does and to baby talk over....they are far and few these days!

Thats how I am and I have been with my man for 5 years. We still talk baby talk. I think, and this may just be me, that marriage puts a strain on some relationships. I dont even know if I will ever get married.

I know an incredibly annoying couple like that. They eventually married, which doubled my annoyance.

Together, they seem all sticky-sweet, but when you're not watching, they're bickering with each other. Then when one of the two is gone, the other can kvetch to you about his/her partner. That's why I don't understand why these two married. I think the girl was just after the guy's (inherited) money. The guy said he just gave into pressure from the girl to marry. WHAT! Who's the man here? Who has the will?

I just dismiss them as very stupid people who truly deserve to torture each other.

I think it's childish to talk like a baby to your husband/boyfriend. That is very odd behavior.

My ex used to do that to me and it was really weird. He would do it all the time. I have never used baby talk ever.

That's creepy, I refused to talk 'baby talk' to my own babies, never mind a friggin' grown man.

baby-talking in public is a good reason for a good smack upside the head...... normal adults don't do that with each other.... they may have a "secret" language all their own, or certain looks.....
