Graduating class is g
75% have 8
remaining is 25% of g 60% of those have 6 or 7, which means that 40% of the remaining have fewer than 6.
so 40% of 25% of g have fewer than 6 or
.4(.25)g or .10g or 10% of the graduating class have 6 or fewer.
That means
75% have 8 or more
15% have 6 or 7
10% have fewer than 6

After the first 75% is taken out, you are left with 25%. You now have to take away 60% of that.

60% of 25% = .6*.25 = .15 = 15%

25% - 15% = 10% of the entire class took fewer than 6 math courses.

class = 100

75 have taken at least 8 math courses

60% of 25 students have taken 6 or 7 course

leaving 15 students out of 100 that have taken less than 6 math course

giving you 15%

-edit oops... they're right its 10%
