I am totally in love with Egyptians (I'm no Egyptian though). I mean, I haven't met any Egyptians face-to-face but I'm totally in love with Egypt and it's people. I guess it's all the Egyptian movies I watch and songs I listen to.
Amr Diab makes me melt. He is soooo cute... and the Egyptian accent is sooo cute too; in fact, I'm trying to learn Egyptian. But I'm not doing so well. Let see... I've been in love with Egypt since the 7th grade (now, I'm in college). How can you fall in love with a country? Right? Well, I'm not only in love with the country, like I said I'm in love with Egyptians (I hope to marry one in the future).
Anyway, let me get to my point... I need someone to teach me the Egyptian language (whether you are in the US or elsewhere, doesn't matter). Consider this as a language exchange.. Well, not only as a language exchange but a cultural exchange as well... ♥&&]]

Well, I'm certainly totally in love with at least one of Egypt's people. :)

Egypt has always been on those "Places I want to see before I die" list, and While I am glad I will have an even better opportunity to get meet her and her children and love her, I didn't plan on marrying an Egyptian at all.

Yes it is absolutely possible and plausible to fall in love with a country. I have fallen in love with each country I have visited, and my home and life and even my language reflect that.

Amr Diab is the hawtness, I agree completely.

Egyptian Arabic is the most widely known and understood dialect of Arabic. Movies, music and television all use Egyptian Arabic. I absolutely suggest having a Live speaker with you to walk you through the pronunciantion. I can now hold very brief polite conversation in Arabic, and that's very much thanks to having a live speaker and lots of repetition.

Of course, I love learning from my habibi (Beloved, sweetheart) even though some of the sounds are difficult for me to make. But he and his friends all think it is too cute (helwa) when I say "Ahlan".

But Egyptians are all cute anyways. I'm still working on making the perfect ful medame (fava beans) for breakfast. Hopefully I'll have it nailed by the time I'm married.

Oh my God! You sound exactly like me! Hahaha! Except that I cannot marry one in the future because I am already married. Get ready for a long list of people willing to help you learn Egyptian-Arabic, as you already know most Misr are helpful and friendly. Once you learn the language maybe you can teach me, too. And just to correct you, Amr Diab is not just cute, he's handsome! :-P

Egypt loves you in return also and welcome you to come and visit any time. Come and meet Egyptians live. Egypt need her friends to be close like the mother likes her kids. They go any where but she can't stand not to see them.

I have good news for you about the Egyptian dialect but no way to mention it here. If you like to know contact me.
