For the lazy ones who don't click the link

The complaint filed by Mariane Pearl alleges the Habib Bank transferred funds to an Islamic charity, which she alleges was linked to the killing.

The court documents say that one of the charity's trustees owned the property where her husband's body was found.

It seeks unspecified damages for acts it alleges were intended to "emotionally destroy the Pearl family and terrorise, appal and frighten American citizens".

Is this just? Should people be allowed to sue because there's a remote connection?

It *does* look like a legal stretch from where I'm sitting.

However, perhaps they know details that we do not.

Perhaps the bank is merely a front for the funneling of money and such to terrorist organizations.

Outside of the United States, I don't think they have a prayer of winning.

And perhaps Mariane Pearl merely wants a platform on which to make her case, and doesn't really care about whether or not she wins.

And perhaps the Pakistani government and the Habib Bank need to be called on the carpet for the whole Daniel Pearl incident.

The reason free societies have courts is to decide if someone's complaints are just and if they are entitled to compensation.

I think the entire U.S. population should be allowed to sue any nation that harbors murderers such as Ben Laden and those who were responsible for the attack on the New York World Trade Center. Is terrorism just? Is murder just?

In America she has every right to sue. The outcome will be a different story. I hope she can make a positive, direct link to this bank.
