Is this a cyclical thing?

If creating a surplus instead of a deficit is not "reducing the deficit" then I don't know what is. How can you people flat out use lies and faulty logic with a straight face??!!

I'm beginning to think that Clinton was just a ruse by the neo-cons to raise the budget surplus. That's what it looks like. The surplus goes up,and then the neo-cons spend it all on an illegal war. We're becoming a 'third world nation' ! It does look like this is a cycle. The same thing happened with Carter. He came in,and had to handle the huge deficit caused by Nixon&Ford ! As soon as he got it under control, then Reagan came along, and drained the budget again. We've been played like a cheap violin !

No, but you should do some research before asking questions. The deficit has been cut in half in the last year and a half and if the trend continues there will be a surplus in 2 years.

Something to note is that Clinton didn't want to pass a balance budget (if my memory serves me correct) in 1995. In fact the govt. was shutdown. It was not Clinton who saved the money. It was the Republican Congress and Democratic President.

Democrats have never decreased the deficit in history.

Actually, no democratic congress in american history has ever balanced the federal budget.

Only Republican congress's have balanced the federal budget in the last 100 years.
