When I was little, I used to throw a fit and "run away" to the end of my street. I'd just sit there until my mom came and picked me up five minutes later. Fortunately, we lived in a safe neighborhood--the kind where a 4-year-old could sit at a street corner unsupervised and not get kidnapped.

My middle sister would pack some clothes every time she got upset with us and get ready to leave. My mom used to let her do that without stopping her, we lived in a building with guards, so she wouldn't have gone far anyway. She would take LOTS of her clothes, some candies and even toys and sit at the doorstep for a while, then come back all by herself giving us another chance, this one last time :) That happened about 50 times while she was 9.
The same sister ran away from mom at the dentist when she was about 4. She was caught in a matter of seconds and had her tooth checked anyway. What a free soul she has!

when i was smaller i tried running away because mom put my barbies on the top shelf and i couldnt reach them and i was sad...i got a little ways down the road and this nice old man found me and brought me back. his cow had got loose, thats the only reason why he was out at 2 AM in that dewy weather. If he hadnt found me i probably wouldve got picked up by some drunk.
then, about 11 years later, i ran away from home for good. this time was a better reason. my parents were verbally abusive and cheating on each other, so i moved out on my own, i didnt go far, but im still gone. they know where i am so i guess its not technically running away, per say, but i told them ifthey ever set foot on mine and my roommates property then i was gettin out the pellet gun

I used to "run away" but now that I am older I just realize I needed to get away from where I was and find a place that I felt accepted and safe. Unfortunately for me that wasn't at home. I know the feelings that make you do that, but realistically if you are going to do that, you may as well just get a job and a really cheap apt till you can afford more. You do not want to depend on anyone else to take care of you.

I ran away when I was in grade school. I took all my dresser drawers and moved them into the garage and I moved in there.
I was in my own bed by nightfall of course, but I did run away.
Hey, I was no fool! The world is a big scary place! (Besides, I wasn't even allowed to cross the street at the time.)

I was very little and my parents yelled at me for talking too much while they were watching a movie. I went into my room and got only two things, my pillow and my Barbie doll. I didnt even try to sneak out because I knew that if i let myself get caught, my parents would have to turn their attention away from the movie and onto me. I only got as far as our front door and just as i'd planned, i caught their attention and they said they were sorry for yelling and that they still loved me.

Yes...and don´t laugh. It was because my Mom was very angry with me because at my 13 years, I decided to cut my hair but not that short. I guess that she was right. I went to my uncle's for around 5 days. But...it's not good to run away. You have to communicate...that is a plus...to avoid runs away.
