My english teacher asked this to us..and we're all like..hmm..
if it doesnt make sense..like those cars after a funeral, they take the coffin and transport them to the cemetery..and usually the cars have there head lights on, even in the day time..so asking if anyone knows.. ^-^

So that other drivers will know that it is a procession and try not to disrupt it.

During a funeral procession all the cars try to stay together, by having lights on oncoming cars usually realize it is a funeral and don't cut into the procession.

Probably the driver wants to warn others of their coming ,so the pedestrians and other drivers would give way to ensure his car would not have to stop. This is to show respect for the deceased.

To signal the non-participating traffic that they are a group
that you must legally yield to at times and as a sign of respect
for the deceased in my opinion.
