Oh brother...2 days ago, when I introduced the female fish into the fish tank which has 1 male, the male fish keeps attacking the female fish...

Now, today I noticed that the female fish is attacking the male fish, and the male fish seem to be stressed about it.

could they be that they are hungry? I already feed them this morning with 2 flakes each.

Or could it be that the male is sick, and so, it's a target?

Guppies.

I noticed the male fish has red dots on both their left and right flapping fins. Could be genetic -I didn't take much notice until today.

It's really hard to know for sure what's going on, but I would think hunger may be playing a role. Feed them all they can eat in 2-3 minutes twice a day. 2 flakes isn't nearly enough even for a small fish like a guppy.

Some females are just naturally aggressive, so your only option may be to separate them.

What kind of fish are they??

OK, it might help to keep them in a group of 3-5 so they can school. A loonnng time ago (when I was like, 7 lol) I had 2 guppies and they would always chase each other too. Maybe it's just something guppies do?

2 flakes doesn't seem like that much. Feed more often or follow the direction on the container. I think it's usually as much as they will eat in 5 minutes.

You could also separate them or add some decorations so they each have some hiding places to get away from each other.

Well, I only have the experience with Betta fish. You cannot put both together, They have to be by themselves. At the pet store a clerk told us we could put two female fish together, but one kille d the other anyway. If they are Bettas, separate them, or you are going to lose one.

I would put them in seperate tanks until you can talk to someone in the pet store or a vets office.
