Is it, we are together type advertisement or just a sign of affection.
It's actually quite a weird when you think about it.
What do you think the purpose of holding hands is?

I used to hold friends with a male friend of mine - it was in no way Romantic, it was more of a friend thing.
Holding hands annoys me, I can't do my own thing, If I have a scratch and somethings in my other hand. I have to release my hand from their hand, and do what i need to, then hold their hand again. If I wanna go one way, they either have to come with me or I gotta fight them off.

My husband and I still hold hands, and we do it when there's no one to see, so I guess in our case, it's a gesture of affection, connection and communication, though I have to agree that it is kind of weird when you think about it. It's possible that it's a public display of affection that's deemed "appropriate" because there are still people that think kissing in public or hugging or going arm-in-arm is inappropriate. To go one step further from THAT, in the past, all of those types of displays were not only inappropriate, but a woman's virture was in question with such displays. It was very inappropriate behaviour where holding onto your beloved's arm was a simple and accepted gesture and holding hands actually was borderline, but still acceptable. So I guess it's just a regression to when holding hands is ALL you could do.

I think that the purpose to holding hands is very significant to me and my husband. It shows our affection and connection that we have for one another. I also see where you think it can also be an ad. So, it could be both a type of advertisment because you are showing your significant other belongs to you and only you. It all depends on your perspective why you hold hands with your partner. But, my reason is to show my love and connection that we can bond over by this experience.

You're new at Wicca, aren't you? A white witch won't curse anything. Are you sure it's not your own subconscious pushing guilt at it, causing stress that erupts as arguments? Books are printed en-masse at the publishers and stored in warehouses. No cursing is done on them. At the store yes they are exposed to every person coming in to look over the stock, and you do get Christians who dislike the metaphysical shelves, but even they couldn't put something on the book that would cause that. And for anyone practicing magic -- they know that stopping a curse is as easy as deciding inside that the curse does not apply and has no place in their lives. BOOM the energy is done, dispersed to the world and is no more. Curses are the easiest things to stop. A curse is made to continue by causing fear in the person who has to deal with it. Which is why I find your post so odd. One item can't do this in your home unless you're allowing it to. The book is not a bad book. It should have neutral energy on it. Having something 'activate' once it enters your doors is not what's happening. Look to any protection you put on your home--the protection is pulled from you, and if your own subconscious has a problem with reading a book of this type, it would manifest in and around you as negative energy based on guilt. It's not the book's fault.

I'm 28, and I've been with my husband for almost 11 years, been married almost 9 and we still hold hands. I guess it's just to show affection. People have even commented that we still act like we're dating the way we treat each other and the whole holding hands thing.

Why? Because you want to. Because you love the person you are with. Because it makes you feel good knowing that the person whom you love is right next to you. Why is it weird??? If that is the case, do you think hugging is weird? If you don't want to hold hand then don't. You don't have to hold her hands all the time when you go out with her.

Holding hands symbolizes connection and affection. to let the other person know your here, your holding on, and willing to help you in any way he/she needs to. it also makes the other person feel safe knowing there is someone there. it can also show a "We are together" type of advertisement. but mostly affection.

I think there's some scientific thing about hand holding but I don't recall it. For some it's just an advertisement, for others, it's a sweet gesture to show connection.

I happen to love to hold hands. It makes me feel closer to my man. It has nothing to do with any advertisement and we have different signals with our hands, like a squeeze or a thumb in the palm. It is strictly a private thing.

holding hands not only shows signs of affection but it also shows unity, when you hold your partners hand you are saying this is my other half nothing can come between us. that is what i think the purpose of holding hands is and yes I hold hands with my boyfriend.
