In my opinion it's either "He's Stopped Loving Her Today" or "Hello Darlin'".

Most Country and Western historians/listeners or really anyone who know a good bit about country and western music will tell you "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones. Then most will tell "Crazy" by Patsy Cline is 2nd. And id agree with them.

Also the Perfect Country and Western song is "You Never Even Call Me By My Name" by David Allan Coe. Props to whoever said it before me!

I'd agree with 2 previous answerers...."I was drunk, the day my mom got out of prison... And I went to pick her up in the rain... but before I could get to the station in my pickup truck, she got runned over by a damned old train...." You Never Even Call Me By Name by David Allen Coe ranks up there as one of my greatest all time country songs... but there are so many!

There is no way to choose just one. He Stopped Loving Her Today was the first to pop into my mind, but all that did was release a flood of a thousand more good ones.

He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Strait I think is the best. The song was actually voted as the no.2 country song of all time by CMT.

Your cheatin heart , Hank Williams, 1950. pure country gold, every song after it tried to capture it's spirit of hurt, loss, hope and a simple story that most everyone can relate to.
