I think that they are the skeet shooters of the bird world and our cars and heads are the targets. I live in the country and have never been pooped on by a single bird...I go to town and suddenly I'm target practice! Arghh! Thank God for hats!lol!

i'm not sure what the NSPCC will be able to do - they care for children, not pigeons! Why not approach the pigeon, if it flies off, it's probably fine. If not, maybe it has injured itself. My guess is that it is just a bit dazed, but if you find that it is injured, they you could call the RSPCA. Note - not the RSPB, they do not have the facilities to care for sick/injured birds.
