I am planning on getting a lizard called a _____ dragon. I saw it at the county fair, someone told me what it was called, but I forget it. I was wondering a price for it and the equipment.

The most popular are Bearded Dragons and Chinese Water Dragons. Bearded Dragons are very popular. The run anywhere between $30 and $100.00, depending on who you get it from. You need at least a 50 gallon long (not high) tank, a UVB bulb and fixture, reflector dome for a light bulb for heat, a digital thermometer (indoor/outdoor with probe), something to bask on, ceramic tile or non-adhesive shelf liner for flooring, a food dish for daily fresh salad, a large rubbermaid container to house cricket, crickets, cricket food, another container for bathing, a spray bottle for misting. I guess everything for my beardie cost about $350.00, plus the ongoing cost of food. UVB bulbs run $20-40 and need to be replaced every 6 months. I'd recommend you go to the forums page at www.reptilerooms.com and read the caresheets and Q & A's....you'll learn lots. :)

bearded maybe? they require a lot of care and a 50 gallon tank with a light and a place for them to hide a substrait and food maybe pinkies probably crickets

the bearded dragon is probably around $50
the tank might be about the same $50 or more im not sure
all the other stuff might be another $50
and crickets are like $5 weekly

edit
you will need a place for them to bask in too which is a high area you might take a peice of a branch that you can arrange to come off the ground and clips to keep him or other animals in the house or children from pushing the cover off

You are thinking of a bearded dragon. They are good species for experts or beginners. Here is a care link

here is pick the bearded is the spiky one.LOL I love them they look like little dinosaurs. They range in price from tiny just hatched about 20. most places to higher prices for the adults. Most pet stores have mainly babies but they grow fast and can live about 7 years more with optimum care. They
need a good sized cage as they can get large and of course all the supplies.

Bearded Dragons are a fun and adventurous lizard. Sand substrate is the best to use as flooring but gravel can also be used. They love climbing and exploring so lots of branches and trees need to be placed vertically in your tank/enclosure. They eat mostly anything that moves like crickets, roaches, moths, grasshoppers, mealworms, earthworms. When they are older they are also known to eat small mammals like mice. They are an extremely easy to keep reptile and i guarantee you'll have alot of fun with them.

I have 2 bearded dragons in a 8 foot long but 5 foot wide by 4 foot tall cage with play sand in the bottom, and anything you stick in the cage is going to be okay for them but we manly have wood in there and things along that matter, things they can climb on, but you do have to have certain lights like heat lamps because they are more of a desert kind of animal and need to be in a desert kind of environment

I use crushed walnut shells as a bedding in my beardie's cage and she seems to enjoy it. I'm not sure how much it costs, but it was the cheapest best solution for bedding. All I have in the terrarium is a plastic stump and a bendy stick for her to climb on, a water bowl, a 'tree,' and a couple of rocks that hold heat well. I also have a sunlight for her, but in the summer she stays in my sun room so she gets plenty of sun. Good luck!

Its a komodo dragon. possibly.(If its a big lizzard) I'm pretty sure that you cant get those as a pet though... and if you could, they would probably be majorly expensive. Try searching google to see how much, and where to get one.
