I came from a really small town in New Mexico named Carlsbad. My friend's band was always great act to go see no matter where they played. The name of the band is Kryoburn. Its sort of an industrial metal band. They are now a up and coming band. I recently heard them played on my Sirius on Hard Attack and also my cable music stations.

I live in St. Louis...we don't have much of a rock scene, we're way more famous for rap. Story of the Year is from here though; they've recorded live albums at local venues and named their first one after a street here.
As for bands who haven't made it big, So Many Dynamos is awesome.
