Lately, my rabbit hasn't been eating and pooping as much as usual. Is there something wrong with her?

Details:
A while ago, she used to LOVE being with us, but now, she is nervous when we let her out of the cage and hides under the couch. I don't think I did anything to make her act this way. Also, I'm wondering if maybe she is just stressed, because recently, we have gotten a leash and harness for her and have been takeing her on walks outside.

Yes there is something wrong with your rabbit.

From what you describe she sounds like she's heading towards a case of STASIS and that is serious. Get her to a vet as soon as possible.

Here is an excellent source of information on Stasis please read it and act quickly:

She is being stressed by being taken outside on a leash, stop that immediately! She's not taking it well and it's affecting her health. Not all rabbits enjoy going outside.

It's not normal for rabbits to not eat...they graze all day long. A few things to check for--is it hot? They don't tolerate heat well. Are you giving her as much grass hay, like Timothy, every day as the main part of her diet? Is she elderly (over 5)? How do her teeth look? Is she spayed? They are prone to uterine cancers. If it isn't something you can change to fix simply, then bring her to an experienced rabbit vet (you may have to call around, not all vets treat rabbits).

I would say yeah, probably. I have a rabbit now that just completley stopped eating and drinking and I've had to feed her baby food with a seringe to keep her up and running. if she's eating A LOT less, then thats bad. if it's just a little, it may just be the heat. try not taking her on her walks, and keeping her on really low stress for a while, and see how she reacts. give her lots of hay to keep her from clogging up. is she long haired? if so she may be starting to get wool block. she'll need hairball remedy and vegan enzyms. has your food gone bad? it may be worth it to take it back or get a new bag. sometimes it goes bad after a while. anyways, hopefully it's just the heat. try to keep her calm. good luck!

My rabbits eat less during the summer than they do the rest of the year. Maybe having to do with the heat. However if you are concerned about it you may want to consult your vet.

no i wouldnt think there is maybe she dousent like her foor did you change it? if so she could still be getting use to the change and not eating as much of it yet. Then again she might need for fruits and vegtables rabbits know then they need more of something eles maybe shes trying to tell you? if you are really worried about her you should call the vet and see what they have to say and maybe set up na appointment to see one.
