From what I understand, Pakistan has been doing a pretty decent job of rooting these dirt bags out. They are constantly under a lot of pressure from both sides along the Afghan/Pakistan border. It's no haven for the terrorists.
If necessary, I'm sure we will assist Pakistan if the terrorists in this area become too big a problem for them to handle.
Remember, Pakistan has had a lot of problems recently with these militants, too. Hostages in a Mosque, suicide bombers, etc.

Last I saw on Monday, Bush is going after 'hearts and minds' in Pakistan... to the tune of $750 million.

"The United States plans to pour $750 million of aid into Pakistan’s tribal areas over the next five years as part of a “hearts and minds” campaign to win over this lawless region from Qaeda and Taliban militants."

Personally, I'd lay pretty good odds that they won't love us for it; they won't even respect us in the morning. How much of that money will quickly fall into terrorists' hands and, in turn, be used to fund terrorism against US? Can someone explain the logic in this and which side Bush is on?

Doubtful. The terrain is much too unforgiving than Afghanistan or Iraq.
