My oven is not working, hasn't been for the last couple months. Now I feel it is time to have someone come out and fix it. But what category am I looking under in the yellow pages? Just "Repair Person" or is there a certain someone I would call for this?

Look under Appliances Major Service and Repair in your local yellow pages. Call a few and see if they are an authorized repair person for the brand of the oven that you need fixed. (But that doesn't matter so much if it is no longer under warranty.)

It may not be worth fixing. When you call ask them what their MINIMUM charge is to come look at it. It could be as high as $100. You can buy a cheapo range for <$300. Even less if you buy used. I tried to sell mine recently for $50 when I did a kitchen remodel. I couldn't find any takers so I donated it to the local women's shelter. So cheap appliances are out there.

If no luck, look in the yellow pages for the appliance s and search for one that has a BBB beside it. That stands for Better Business Bureau. They will have a reputable license and you can ask for references from them. You can give a few of them a call and see if they are good at their job.
