Do you know that "feeling" that you're on the verge of a bladder infection (full feeling in abdomen, low-grade fever)? Could you suggest a natural remedy in order to possibly avoid an antibiotic?

Home remedies for Urinary Tract Infection
Treating Urinary Tract Function by use of Baking Soda
A mixture of 1/2 tsp baking soda in eight ounce glass of water can be very helpful on the first signs of urinary tract infection. The presence of baking soda in your system raises the acid-base balance of the acidic urine.

Treating Urinary Tract Infection by drinking water or fluids
It is very important for your system to have a good flow of urine. This can be done by consuming plenty of water. It cleanses your body by diluting and flushing out the unwanted substance.

Treating Urinary Tract Infection by Cranberry Juice
Cranberry juice disallows bacteria to cling to the cell, which line the urinary tract. It is a great remedy to fight this infection. If you cannot have the cranberry juice directly you can mix it with apple juice to add some taste.

Treating Urinary Tract Infection by Aromatherapy
You can make an essential oil by using equal parts of sandalwood, bergamot, tea tree, frankincense and juniper. Mix all these ingredients to make an oil to be rubbed over your bladder area. Continue this massaging technique for three to four days once the symptoms subside.

Treating Urinary Tract Infection by Echinacea
You can consume at least two capsules three times a day of Echinacea and Oregon grape root or goldenseal to fight the infection.

Treating Urinary Tract Infection by Tincture
In acute cases try having 1/2 tsp of tincture every hour. Severe infection needs severe measures. Blend equal parts of pipsissewa, buchu, echinacea, and uva ursi tinctures. Have 20 drops of this blended mixture every two hours for first two days and later 1 tsp four times a day, till you have completely recovered. Have a soothing tea such as marshmallow root to counter the strong antiseptic effect of urva ursi.

Urinary Tract Infection Diet
Increase the intake of vitamins C
Vitamin C prevents the bacterial growth due to the acidic environment created in the bladder and the urinary tract. It is very important to have a healthy diet which is rich in minerals and other supplements for your daily quota. You can maintain the alkaline content in urine by a rich diet of milk, fruits, and fresh vegetables.

Fresh berry juice
Women consuming fresh berry juice as part of the daily diet, turns out to be very useful in the long run.
Avoid irritant foods
A diet which consists of processed food like cheese, chocolate, dairy products should be avoided. You should also avoid spicy food, caffeine, alcohol and cigarettes which otherwise is also harmful. Avoid carbonated drinks like beer, soda or any other drink with fizz.
Stay away from artificial sweetener
Aspartame is one of a kind of artificial sweetener. You will find many artificial sweeteners in the market which should be avoided. It is mainly consumed by diabetic patients and is used in many beverages and other foods.

Other suggestions for Urinary Tract Infection
Hot compression

Reflexology
Working on the bladder or kidney points can provide you some relief from this infection.

You may be able to cure an early urinary tract infection (UTI) if you act promptly when you have the first symptoms of a UTI, such as pain and burning with urination. Home treatment steps that may stop an infection from progressing include:

* Drinking lots of water, along with cranberry juice, especially during the first 24 hours after your symptoms appear. This will help make the urine less concentrated and wash out the infection-causing bacteria. This may alter some of your body's normal defense mechanisms, but most doctors recommend drinking a lot of fluids when you have a UTI.
* Urinating frequently and completely to empty your bladder each time.

To relieve pain, take a hot bath or lay a heating pad over your genital area. Never go to sleep with a heating pad in place.

Uva Ursi, Is the one proven herbal remedy for UTI It has been used a long time. A friend of mine who is a Dr. told me to take it for a UTI, I had been relatively sick a few weeks prior and had been overloaded on Antibiotics, and was being treated for thrush, and yeast infection. Take Uva Ursi, along with cranberry concentrate. Drink a large amount of water especially before bed. The sleep will help you hold your bladder longer. The more fluid you can build up, instead of the normal dribble that burns, will allow the herbs to stay put longer, and when you urinate again, you will be able to flush out a lot of the bacteria. Below is a link to the University of Maryland where it talks about studies of Uva Ursi. It includes instructions, I have discovered the liquid works the best. The body does not have to work as hard to extract the elements you need to fight this.

Good Luck

A good remedy for any type of bladder/urinary tract infection is the AZO Cranberry Pills. They have some made specifically for infections and some regular ones that work just as good. Also stick to cranberry juice if you can stomach it, lots of water and clear non-dyed liquids such as 7-up and sprite.

Raspberry leaf tea can help move out the build up of uric acid in the kidneys and bladder and get you back to normal. However, drinking cranberry juice, not cranberry cocktail, but the juice can help move things along if you have one already. Also, you can buy AZO cranberry tablets in the drug store for less than $3 if you already have the infection. Get Raspberry Leaf tea in coffee isle of grocery store, look closely for the cranberry JUICE and you can usually get the AZO tablets there too last time I checked for myself.
I would also like to recommended Elizabeth's Essence Tea that I buy now from www.dandesoap.com that helps with menstrual, PMS symptoms, insomnia, indigestion, headaches and pain and bladder or urinary infections. You will find it on the self spa page at the bottom. Keep it around and you can drink it often or lazy like.

Tea For Bladder Infection

Get Azo!! It's a miracle-worker! This is what the box looks like: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=15927&catid=10&trx=PLST-0-BRAND&trxp1=10&trxp2=15927&trxp3=1&btrx=BUY-PD-PLST-0-BRAND&brand=8150&cmbProdBrandFilter= You can get it at any supermarket or drugstore for like $5-$7. (It makes your urine orange though which is a little weird). It's basically a generic over-the-counter brand of one of the antibiotics a doctor would prescribe.

Drink lots of cranberry juice. It will keep you hydrated, plus the antioxidants in it will help a LOT. Most people don't like cranberry juice that much (but the Azo is basically like super-concentrated cranberry juice). If the juice is too bitter, add a little bit of water to water it down a bit, it will make it much easier to drink. If you really really don't like cranberry juice, cranberry-apple or something works pretty well too.

If you really think you are on the verge of a bladder infection, you really have to see a doctor though and get an antibiotic. You can die from bladder infections if it goes untreated. Typically UTIs don't clear up on their own, they need help from antibiotics. The doctor would probably prescribe you this white pill called Amoxicillin (only take it if you know you're not allergic to Penicillin), I think it was only a couple bucks whenever I got it. It's not expensive.

Until you can see a doctor (which I highly recommend you do), stick to the Azo and cranberry juice and you'll feel a million times better.

really the only way is lots of fluids. This will flush your system and hopefully rid you of the infection. LOTS OF WATER!!!! cranberry juice is also helpful. Ya know I don't even know why but this is what i have done and been told for years and works. But make sure you go in after a few days cuz it could be bacteria causing this and it wont just go away , and if it goes to your kidneys this could be very VERY dangerous!

for this i know i am just getting over a kidney infection!

The best thing to do is a full body cleanse. You might also try adding a probiotics. The one is I use on regular basis is called Latero-Flora. You can also use Organic Oregano Oil and Collodial Silver. These products will help your body to rid itself of the bad bacteria that is causing the bladder infection. You might try doing a complete intestinal cleanse. The product that I have used with great success is called Oxy-Powder. One of the best intestinal cleansers on the market. It is a very non-abrasive colon cleansers. You might also try doing a liver gallbladder cleanse.

There is nothing you can do but push fluids and drink lots of cranberry juice. If you really think you are starting a bladder infection it is better to get it treated then to wait as left untreated it can spread to your kidneys or blood stream making things much worse.
