I've experienced it! I live in downtown Chicago. When I'm there or in the suburbs, I have a sense of being around people and in a society. That makes me think and feel that liberal or left-leaning ideology is best. When I drive out to rural areas, I lose that immediate sense of society. That makes me think and feel more that individual responsibility is most important, and I shouldn't need to pay taxes to support so many government programs, and perhaps that I shouldn't take support from a government. Has anyone else experienced this? I think this is fascinating.

Take gun control for example, in Chicago you are probably for it (liberal democrat), who wants to get shot on the way to work, but in the country, you need a gun to protect yourself from stray animals or wild Coyotes just to walk a mile to the mailbox - pro gun (more conservative values). Its their lifestyle that influence political beliefs in people.

Yes. As society cities tend to be blue - democratic in their leanings and more rural areas tend to be red- republican in their leanings. Just check out the last electoral college map. The red areas are in the more rural states the coastal states with large cities are blue.

No I haven't but it would be great if liberal were all forced to take a country walk. I am a Libretarian though and I don't want to support people who don't work and are dependent on Gov. I like Independent people, co-dependents just suck the life out of everything.

Nothing wrong. That goes to prove no one single idea is perfectly correct for all times and situations.

Some real authentic moments of life. However, I am living in India, still I can feel your thoughts expressed here.
