we are still here we just choose to live in the rural community and stay away from the pansies in the city( we're the ones who fix everything for them and build their homes and change their oil , and grow their food, etc....)

Too many "confused little boys in men's bodies". Too many guys who live in the past of some real or imagined trauma from their childhood.
It could also be attributed to the fact that women (whether mothers or wife's) are not what they were in the Duke's day and fathers are not like his. It is not a sudden thing, it is more of a cycle that started long ago.

There are alot of men who are the John Wayne type. When you look for them, search them out you usually will not find them but when you least expect them they show up and lend that helping hand, pick you up when you need a lift.
