Fruit flies are attracted to open dishes of vinegar. They go to it and drown.
I never heard of fruit flies coming from a sink drain however. Check the trap is installed properly under the sink because there are small pesky flies that can breed in open sewer pipes and that may be what you have.

Put a slice of banana in a small bowl, cover with saran wrap and poke a few small holes in the wrap with a toothpick. Only about 5 holes should do the trick. Place the bowl in the sink. You will see the flies are attracted to the banana. They will fly in the holes in the wrap, but can't find their way out. They will eventually die. Then just take the whole dish outside and throw the banana, flies and wrap out in the garbage.

Just pour straight bleach down the drain every night, it will clear up in a few days. My dad owns a pizza shop in an old building, and it happens every summer. Also make sure you don't leave out any wet sponges or rags.

In the sink, baking soda and vinegar. Get rid of what ever is creating the problem. Put all fruit and veggies in the fridge.
