Not a bad idea..."no wait, I forgot a few things" and come back with some KY, a cucumber, and some condoms. It'll make her think twice about asking the next customer in line.

Yes, it does 'annoy me' ... but there are stores that actually REQUIRE that the clerk ask that question when they do. I much prefer the question 'before' the clerk reaches the 'total' ... although that is actually 'wrong' ... they 'check you out fully' so that you may 'pay' and have your purchased bagged, and you can then go back (and leave the purchases at the counter to be picked up after in most stores other than grocery stores) and pick up the 'stuff' you left behind. It's FASTER for all of us, so that is also, annoying though it may be, the best way.

****. We hate asking it. Let me tell you also, when cashiers act all "happy to see you", we're really wanting to strangle you for buying a $1.10 thing of lipgloss and then paying for it with a visa. Really, there's nothing better than going thru 10,000 unecesary steps that you'll be punished for not doing, after being there for 6 hrs already without a lunch break to give some little unappreciative girl a sample sized jar of Bratz glittery lipgloss. So the question is, do ringing customers up for simple crap with Visa cards annoy cashiers?
Yes. Yes it does.

You know I never thought of that. That does annoy me. Although there just being polite. I hate that. When you have your money or something out. They always say that. And if that's not all and you do say no I'll shop more. Then what do they do? Lol. That was a good question! This is probably my favorite!

Hang in there Freshman, it's gets weirder. What they're doing is called the "Side Sell". They are trying to get you to buy one more thing.
To me, the weirdest thing they do is making mistakes on purpose. You'll be watching a commercial, and the strap on the girls dress will keep changing shoulders.
They want you to think, "Those idiots botched the video!", when actually, they've succeeded because you remember the commercial...or so they hope.

Its just an old custom from long ago when people were polite but I can see it being annoying to some. You should try saying that to a cashier some time. Funny.

Sometimes, people like to save the---"Where is the blah blah blah?" until they're in line. That's annoying, too. I think what's more annoying is when you're at a store, predominately a clothing store, and some employee asks you questions like, "Do you need help?" and you say no, but they still stand by your side as if you were about to steal things.

Wow, good point, never thought of that one. But hey, you never know, you could reach over to the gum rack and throw some gum on the bill. I think you should try it next time. I think I might just steal your line and be the funny guy in the line up.

Lol yes it does. Today after the cashier rang up my groceries she asked me if I wanted to buy the item they had on special. Why would I want to go get something else if you just rang up my groceries and I'm ready to pay?
