Isn't there a sequel? I watched the first 5 minutes of it. But what is the name of the sequel to Leon-The Professional?

...regrettfully, at this time, no one has taken up the challenge, as far as a sequel to "Leon" (I'll personally take the international version of the film, anytime).
For a couple of years, Sandra Bullock's name was being touted around, as possibly being cast as Mathilda, in a proposed sequel, but this never panned out.
Ya know....Natalie Portman IS old enough to take on a 'several-years-later' follow-up to the film; the story: after having gotten old enough, well schooled, well refined and attractive...and still deeply in loved with her beloved Leon, Mathilda takes to traveling abroad, to the European 'old-country', where Leon was originally from. Once there, she becomes intrigued and passionately interested in Leon's shaded past, and tracks his exploits back to the states. For whatever motivation, she reluctantly finds herself obsessively self-absorbed in taking up Leon's trade as a 'cleaner', and honing her skills, once again...with Danny Aiello's character, Tony, acting as Mathilda's guardian, benefactor...and assigner of 'assignments'.
In a way, such a story would be somewhat reminiscent of director Luc Besson's film, "La Femme Nikita", and in this day and age of unnessesary and overblown sequels and remakes, first impression would dictate that a sequel to such an emotionally powerful, action-packed and stand-alone would be ill-advised...
...however, if done right, and place in the hands of a great writer and director, I truly think that it would work....

Great movie! I don't know of any sequel.
There is the French version and the international version. Maybe this is what led you to believe there was a sequel?
Check out La Femme Nikita too. You'll see Leon.

Exactly! High School Musical 2, Shrek 3, The cartoon Cinderella movies, and all those other movies. I heard they were making a High School Musical 3, and a Shrek 4.
