Randy Moss is currently working out a deal with Ben Watson for the #84. In the mean time he just told the guy who gives out the uniforms to "just give him a number... it doesn't matter which it is", and 6 was the first one he grabbed. It will not be his number once the season begins, he will most likely get 84 from Watson considering both Watson's high school and college number was 89 which is currently available. Hope this helps.

Typically, the numbers 1-19 are designated for QBs and kickers/punters, which most teams will only have a total of maybe 5 of those players. RBs and DBs wear 20s-40s, while WRs & TEs wear numbers in the 80s. However, when a team has more than 10 "receivers" they obviously cannot have two players with the same numbers, so other numbers needed to be used and numbers lower than 20 are often the least used range. The Patriots in particular have 10 WRs and 4 TEs currently listed on their depth chart.

I believe Keyshawn Johnson started the trend of WRs wearing low numbers when he got permission to wear 19. Now many players are choosing to follow suit, such as Roy Williams (11), Larry Fitzgerald (11), Braylon Edwards (17), Donte Stallworth (18) and Moss in Oakland (18).

#6 is for how many points he scores everytime brady hits him in the endzone, it will happed more than most people think this year, bank on it. The man isnt that old and has something to prove. The raiders plain stunk last year, no o-line and a scheme that called for long drops and option routes, hows that gonna work when you got 4 seconds before you get the qb sacked, and no run game at all to fool anyone

because most of the numbers in the 80s range he wanted to wear were taken so he took 6 for that reason

of course with the vikes he replaced into youthful, so he replaced into lots quicker and seems to be greater atheletic back than. He advantages with the patriots, a minimum of final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days from extremely solid QB play with Brady, and he continues to be very very risky. yet He looks to have lost a step from whilst he replaced into youthful and with the vikes. yet in spite of the step lost he's larger than maximum recievers available.
