Above are correct. It hold about 2 tubes if you buy them at a store like Wal-Wort or a Dealer. The lower units have 2 screws, one top and one bottom. Remove the bottom first and then the top and drain. They are filled from the bottom to help remove air better as it fill. So, in the case of Tubes of Grease two give you a little extra for what you may spill filling from bottom to top. What I do, as it much cheaper. I buy a 1 gallon garden sprayer. Those you pump up by hand. I buy the gear lube from a Auto Parts store in a 1 gallon. Put into my sprayer. I get a cheap sprayer that have the plastic wand and remove it (Throw away or save) and round the screw part in front of the button to fit my fill hole. Then stick it in the hole, push the button until it come out the top. I have very little waste and mess. Also, it quick and easy with enough lube for many changes ready whenever.

About a pint and a half, give or take a little. Less than a quart.
Also just in case you don't know. To put it in, remove the bottom plug first. Let any water that may be in there drain out, then insert the nozzle of the oil bottle/ tube in the bottom hole. Remove the top plug and squeze bottle/ tube until oil comes out the top hole. Relace top plug, then remove nozzle and replace bottom plug.
