it all depends what you use your PC for,
contrast ratio will only matter if you are editing ultra high quality photos and video
however if you are gaming you should also consider the refresh rate usually measured in mili seconds, you will see something like 8ms on a spec guide. thats rather good teh lower the better
While both these monitors have an contrast ratio i would go for the samsung as i believe it has the best value for money and i prefer there quality standards compared to DELL.

It is personal preference more than anything else. Go look at them in person and see what one you like better.
That said, the Samsung will be wider. Most people, myself included, would probably like it better for this reason. But you still need to see it in person to look at other factors, such as color quality.

Samsung makes the panels themsleves. Dell buys them and re-brands them. Maybe you should look into what manufacturer they buy the panel from.

Doesn't matter much really, they are probably made in the same sweatshop in Taiwan. Features seem comprable.. save a few bucks and go with the cheaper one.

we just bought a samsung and i dont like it, came with spots in the moniter which shouldnt be there,your choice dude.
