Did you report it stolen immediately? What are you using now? If your phone and number were replaced, then keep disputing the calls.

It sounds like you are begging for money here however, in case you are not.

The phone bill thing. Check and see when you reported it stolen and when the calls were made. Maybe the phone company is making a mistake and you had reported the phone stolen before the calls.

If not then the phone company is perfectly within its right to bill you for those calls. The phone company has no way of knowing whether or not you actually made the calls or not before the phone was stolen.

So, you are stuck with a big phone bill. Call up the phone company and see if you can work out a payment plan. Get the name of the person you are talking to. Keep a notebook and track when you call and who you call to and anything special that happened during that call. If that person says no, then ask to talk to a supervisor and talk to that person. Keep this up until they refuse to give you to another supervisor or help you set up a plan.

If they have not helped with a plan then hang up. Wait 10 minutes and call them again and start the process all over. You will probably get a different person and maybe even different supervisors. If this does not work then you will probably lose the phone and have a pretty good ding on your credit.

Just how LONG was your phone missing before you reported it stolen ? Do you realize how LONG someone would have to gab to run up that sort of charge ?

Sad to say, I think you're on the hook for this one. Most cell phone firms do not cut you slack for this type of thing. They expect you to phone as soon as you realize your phone is missing, and then they immediately terminate the number from further use. Remember, the phone company ALSO has money invested in these calls. They have to pay charges to an assortment of carriers worldwide in order for these calls to be completed.

Were the charges made AFTER you reported it stolen.

If your cell company did not disconnect the phone, then you are not responsible...regardless of what they say.
