They don't really care about what they're doing to their "children", only that THEY are RIGHT. Why is it so hard for us to just stand united as a country & stop the terrorists before there's another attack?
The terrorists are like disobedient children, they're never going to stop when they can just play mom and dad against each other - then both parents are too busy fighting with each other to even know what the kids are doing. We as US citizens are going to be the ones paying for this costly mistake.

On the issue of terror, the 2 parties will not get together because they have fundamental differences that make that impossible. The Democrat party does not see terror as a threat, the leadership is willing to accept a certain amount of mayhem. Remember Terry Kerry who during the 04 election actually said Americans should just get used to it like the Europeans have. Easy to say when you are living behind locked gate and protected by people with big guns. Many on the left think terrorism is a direct result of US policy in the Mideast and the world in general. The republicans see terrorism as an issue that must be confronted. They blame the terrorists for causing the terror, and do not think that a shift in policy will make a difference. So here is the choice 1) Relax, things will be OK, we can negotiate, lets dialog, perhaps if we were not so evil they would love us. 2) it's time to play cowboys and Muslims. Perhaps another 9/11 will get us all on the same page

W.W.1 and W.W.2 the congress worked with the President and the troops. Korea was the same way. During Vietnam when L.B.J. was in office they were all for the war; But when Nixon took office it changed slightly. Nixon had a peace plan that the Democrats reneged on. Carter wanted to talk the ears off the terrorists. Reagan went after the terrorist with out permission because he was rescuing people. Clinton ran from the terrorists for eight years he ran. G.W. Bush went after the terrorists and the Democrats agreed to go after them. But they have been trying to throw a monkey wench into the whole thing from the start. All because they don't have a Democrat in the Presidency.

It hadn't occurred to me, but I suppose it does make sense. Although there is one difference: the Republican voters are egging on the Republican politicians, and the Democrat voters are egging on the Democrat politicians. Everyone says they want bipartisanship, but then they vote for partisans. Children of divorce probably wouldn't do that.

Listen, just because Mommy and Daddy are fighting, it doesn't mean we both don't love you very very much.
