If you read what he writes, you should be able to see that much of it is written to purposely needle others - especially Yankee fans - and that much of it seems to be tongue-in-cheek.
He's a very knowledgeable baseball fan and a diehard Tigers fan, and he has a good sense of the game's history. He might say some inflammatory things on here, but he's actually about as level-headed a guy as you'll find on here.

Georgie Porgie is a snob because he knows his baseball, and has been a Tiger fan since he was 7 years old.
He was 9 years old when The Tigers beat St Louis (after being down 3 games to 1) in 1968. He remembers when Alan Trammell & Lou Whittaker first came up with The Tigers. He remembers that magical season of 1984 when The Tigers got off to that incredible 35-5 start (and never looked back).
Georgie Porgie, as a teenager, spent most of his summers in the upper bleachers at Tiger Stadium and remembers that one year when they lost 19 games in a row (1975).
He remembers "The Bird" and how he would always play with the dirt and talk to the baseball. He remembers screaming for the firing of Randy Smith; and when he finally did get fired he was joyous! He knew once David Dombrowski took over The Tigers would once again reign supreme---it was only a matter of time.
Georgie Porgie remembers when Alan Trammell was named manager of The Tigers in 2003 it was only a PR move on behalf of Mike Ilitch (owner) to save face and try to bring in fans. He knew 2003 was going to be a rough year, but had no idea 2003 would be so bad. But, because he loves The Tigers, he stood by them.
And when Jim Leyland was hired as the manager last year he knew The Tigers would be better; he was hoping for 80-82 wins and was very very please to make it to the playoffs. So what The Tigers lost the world series? Sure, it would have been nice if they had...but The Tigers gained valuable expereince and that will only help them this year.
And George Porgie also knows that the yankees have chocked in the playoffs recently. One only has to look at 2004 to see that. And last year? the yankees were favored becauseof that awesome line-up they had...bu twhat happened? The yankees run into some pretty gosh darn good pitching.
Georgie Porgie wont shut up about The Tigers because he has earned the right to speak his mind, and The Tigers are "so good".
Georgie Porgie hates the yankees because if you dont hate the yankees you aint American.
And YES! Just 3 years prior to going to the world series in 2006 they lost 119 games...what does that tell you? To me, it says The Tigers are back on the baseball map, and he is all giddy about it.
It also tells me that The Tigers have turned it around and should be around for a few years.
Plus, Georgie Porgie is a good guy and has much respect for the other 29 MLB teams (less for the white sox and all CA teams)...also Georgie Porgie knows a thing or two about The Great Game of Baseball.

Its because he's a Tigers fan that in their down years, which were many in a row, were sitting in the chair going i cant wait until the Tigers are good and the rest of the world will see. Finally he has the chance and as i agree Tigers are pretty good he really doesnt have much to talk about since Yankees last world series victory was 2000 and Tigers was 1984.

georgie, like myself, is a die-hard tigers fan and proud of it..the tigers have come a long way since 2003, and have learned lessons and are not at the top of the alc for nothing..the tigers have worked damn hard to get where they are!
georgie has many yankees' fans as buddies, cos as hard as it is to believe, there are some decent yankee fans out there who are not always bragging about theyre series wins.
there is nothing wrong with being proud of your team, but some yankees fans are constantly bragging like there team is the only one that matters, and that pisses georgie and a lot of others off too.
GO TIGERS!!

I would tell you to get a life, but since you're a Yankee fan,
my Yankee loyalty won't let me.
So I'll say this:
Georgie has a right to his opinion whether you agree with it or not.
He's a rabid Tiger fan and he's just defending his team.
You and I do the same for the Yanks all day everyday, don't we?
Take it easy on the old guy, he's virtually harmless.
I love Georgie's comments. He cracks me up!
BTW: I luv your avatar!!!!! : -)

I'm not going to praise Porgie because I am a White Sox fan and he talks smack about us all the time with his "whiney sux" nonsense. And even though it makes no sense because the Sox don't have a reputation for whining, only Ozzie does and it's not like the players control that. However, I can't argue with him, the Tigers are on of the best in baseball right now and are one of the most well-rounded teams.
Georgie actually knows what he's talking about when he answers these questions. Sure he'll be biased at times but aren't we all at times on Yahoo Answers? Give the guy credit, he probably knows more about the game and it's history more than you or I.

GP should brag about his Tigers. They are one fo the best teams in the league. He has every right to cuss out the Yankee fans as well, since all you hear about is how they have won 26 championships and are going to repeat (haha) 1978. Not to mention, he has the bragging rights with his team knocking out the Yankees last year in the playoffs. Finally, the guy is funny and when he makes comments, he usually backs it up with FACTS. Unlike some fans who just throw comments out there, which have no merit and/or truth to them...

a million. Georgie is an somewhat knowledgeable source on all forms of baseball innovations. he's an avid Tigers and pink Wings fan. 2. Georgie is often respectful except prodded. 3. Georgie did no longer welch and positively replaced his avatar to the Indians brand, a imperative branch group that he dislikes in simple terms approximately as much as he dislikes the White Sox. 4. Georgie became a Tiger fan in 2003 whilst they misplaced 119 video games, that makes him like an abused domestic dog. you'll be understanding of a fan who has been by way of that kind of 12 months and did no longer chuck all of it. 5. Proud, you're stylish too. I replied a query of yours on a thoroughly diverse board and threw in a shot on the topic of the Yankees and you probably did no longer carry it against my answer. thank you.

I am going to place my money on the box that says that the guys who asked this question - does not even live in New York. Yet another on the Yankees bandwagon. We will not see a tragedy as big as the one when the Yankees bandwagon crashes in August (you know, when they play real major league teams again. I mean come on, you just played tampa for 4, now you have tampa, kc, baltimore, chicago, kc, and baltimore again! Where is the .500 teams???).
Once August gets swinging, you have 8 with Detroit, 3 with LA, 3 with Cleveland, and 3 with Boston. This is where your team dies, you bandwagon fan.
