i don't see how this can come as a shock to anyone.
we were attacked on 9/11 and bush, instead of actually going after the guys who attacked us, vented some pent up revenge war or pnac nonsense and tried to package it as the war on terror - which all thinking people know hasn't started yet.
we haven't made war on the terrorists - why in the world would they be weaker.
bush himself stated that bin laden wasn't important to him and that he didn't think about him a lot - why is anyone surprised that bin laden is now as strong as ever.
the war in iraq is a joke that has been packaged and repackaged, like that unwanted christmas gift that keeps getting re-gifted because no one really wants it.
i seriously think that bush felt that a real reason for the war would develop as we invaded the nation. but the pesky facts of the real world kept nosing their way into his little fantasy world.
bush needs help at this point - he needs to be relieved of command the way a captain would be if he went insane while in charge of an naval vessel.
we do not live in a monarchy where the leader can do anything he wants.
and today takes the absolute cake:
bush had a signing statement that basically said that if anyone was found to be impeding the war effort in iraq their possessions could be confiscated.
this, more than any other single thing he has done, reveals the kind of guy he is.
he doesn't care about us, who we voted for and what we want.
this guy has got to be held accountable, but thanks to the repubs in congress - who's new best pal is the filibuster - he can't be...

Bush amnesty for Osama is all I can figure. He certainly hasn't been looking for the #1 terrorist for the last 6 years. Bush would have commuted Osama's sentence anyway if he was caught and had a trial at Hague, Bush's executive privilege at work like the Scooter Libby ordeal. Lining the pockets of the Bush empire has always been top priority you know.

I'm not a Republican, which is why I've been saying it wasn't worth it for a very long time now. But our country has done a lot of things that weren't worth it (like Vietnam). The proof will be in what kind of damage control we're willing to do--and I don't mean spinning it for internal politics. I mean damage control with the whole world.

It means Pakistan is giving them safe haven and that needs to be stopped. So many say the war was necessary but if 12 million illegals can enter this country. I think some terrorists can find some way to enter aswell. Their talking about during the next 3 years their could be an incident. All we can do is our best to stop them. What else can we do?

Come on don't be so naive. This is more political spin by the White House. They are currently putting pressure on Pakistan, Jordan and Syria to get with the program. They need time, It's probably part of the Gen, Peatreus plan. The polls show that this kind of thing work for the White House and the conservatives. It's some thing the Democrats have to ether support of not. either way, it buys time and keep all of us on our toes.

I am sure we will find out soon that either of the following is the case.
1. The surge is not working - so we need a bigger surge.
2. The surge is working - so we need a bigger surge.
Not sure which it will be yet - but am looking forward to hearing it.

The report didn't say Al Qaeda was stronger than ever. It said it was stronger than it had been in a few years. Which is bad, but at least they're still weaker than they were before we kicked them out of Afghanistan. So we're making progress and we're winning, we just haven't finished yet.

To the sickos making a literal killing in Iraq in pure government-subsidized profits is sure IS worth it to THEM. They couldn't care less about us--except when it comes to taking our money.
