Bush and his Regime are just delaying the inevitable, plus by September his Generals will tell him to keep the war going the way they have been. The U.S. congress will also take a vacation from the beginning of August to the beginning of September. What soldier gets that kind of vacation? They are the ones working the hardest. The soldiers need to come home and get away from the occupation of Iraq. It is not doing them any good to stay in the middle of a civil war between the Iraqis themselves.

Because we won't know whether or not the surge worked until we give it time to work. And yes, Bush thinks the situation will get better while the Iraqi congress is on vacation. If one of our troops kills one of the terrorists, then things get better. That's true regardless of whether or not the Iraqi congress is on vacation.

There has no longer been a terrorist attack on US soil by using fact 9/11. The strikes of 9/11, 2001 have been planned for years by way of the terrorists. there have been warnings however the organizations did no longer work together with one yet another previous to then. i'm a democrat yet i do no longer blame Bush for 9/11.

"Why does Bush and the Republicans keep saying to wait till Sept. to make a judgement on Iraq? "
Because he is no longer a leader. If he were a leader he would say, "We will never give up, never retreat, never surrender until every Islamo-fascist on Earth is dead!"
Instead, he says we should see what some other guy thinks later (lame logical fallacy- "appeal to authority.")
In war, only the judgement of the President has any Constitutional Mandate, not some General. Bush needs to show some nads and let the world know that until Jan.'09, he will zealously pursue our enemies wherever they are found, regardless of the success of one particular tactical gambit or another.

Not only are the Iraqi govt. taking the entire month
of August off...so is Congress, the Senate & most
important people of all...President Cheney & Bush.
Its like Tony Snow said....its over 130 degrees in
Iraq right now...(Hot in Washington, DC also)
why should they suffer...when its our troops who
were the stupid ones to join the military?
Know why Bush & Co. keep saying wait until Sept.?
Cuz thats when their vacations are over with...
God forbid they have to work thru a war in the
summertime....
Ahhhh...General Patreaus....
The man who is hailed as God...
Another words...a chump the Republicans
can put all the blame on in Sept.

The public reason is that the military commander for the region, General Petraeus, will be making his report on US progress in the region in September.
The real reason is that it gives Bush two more months to stall, which brings him that much closer to running out the clock on his term. Then, he can just dump the problem on someone else's lap when he leaves office. His version of "cut and run".

They want to wait because, Gen. Peatreus (PhD) is a very bright guy and needs time to implement his plan. The last thing we need is to allow the partisan politicians to dictate how we run this conflict because they all, no matter what side of the political isle they sit, will sell this country down the drain to be elected or reelected of the gravy train we call Congress. Think about it. Don't let the news media tell you what to think. Do some research and think for yourself, based on a variety of sources, left and right. Fair and balanced is a good thing for this country.

They are pathetically grasping at straws. They are begging and pleading to wait until September to judge. The Iraqi government doesn't even want us there they have said they can handle it themselves, yet we stay. Bush is clearly mentally incompetent at this point. He claimed we would be greeted as liberators, claimed we would stay only as long as necessary yet here we are forcing our ways on another country. Yep can't figure out why they hate us. Must be our freedom.

Because that is when Genneral Patrreaus is giving his report on the situation on Iraq, so they will makr their judgement based on what he says is happening.
