Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. The guy was the greatest hitter ever in the game of baseball, and one of the hardest workers. If they let some steroid pumped, lazy a**, into the record books, then they sure as hell should let someone who may or may not have bet on some games in. It's not like he was throwing any games by getting on base more than anyone else.

Pete Rose never made it to the Hall of Fame, even though he holds several records.
He gambled on baseball and as such got a lifetime suspsension from the game. This includes going to the Hall of Fame as well.
He said recently that he also bet on the Reds when he was managing them

Pete Rose did not go to the hall of fame because ha gambled on his team to lose, although I think he should be in the hall of fame as a PLAYER.

Let go the illusion.

Rose didn't care about his career and his reputation half as much as his fans did.
