Legal? Sure, provided that the children are old enough to take resposiblity for the house and are supplied with food and other basic necessities.

Wise? ABSOLUTELY NOT. The last thing you want to do is arrive home to meet a police officer and a mob of angry parents who want to talk to you about the wild party your kids threw.

This would depend entirely on where you live and the age of the children. But, if they are under 18 in the US, someone over 18 must be in a guardianship role. Minors, in most instances, cannot make their own medical decisions. And if something were to happen, there would be no one around with authority to take control.You would probably arrested for neglect at the least and abuse at the worst. Do not do it. Even if there is no legal penalty where you are, the emotional and moral consequences would be devastating if something happened to them.

It is illegal to leave your kids home alone for 2 seconds.

Arranging to have a babysitter, or relative to be with them is Ok.

yes. you will be charge with negligence and endangering the welfare of a child. if something should happen to them, you will also face additional charges and your children will be in foster care.
