Technically, it should be n-ee-ther, although I often say n-eye-ther.

The word should be spelled "neither". In Germany (I was stationed there for 2 years) the predominant rule for pronouncing words with the letter combos of "ie" or "ei" is that the sound assumes the sound of the second letter in the combo. Therefore "Klein" is pronounced "Kline" and the word "Dienstag" is pronounced "Deen-shtag". Dienstag is the German word for Tuesday. Mis-pronunciations come over periods of time due to many reasons. I get a kick out of people that cannot pronounce their own names due to those reasons. Can't fight global ignorance though. Good luck.
Come to remember it, the German word for "much or many"
is "viel"; pronounced "feel"

I always called it n-ee-ther, too. I guess it just depends on where you live.

it's ee-ther or eye-ther! Really it is! Either pronunciation is correct. It's like some say poe-tay-toe, some say poe-tah-toe!
some say: |roōf; or roŏf|
