I have been playing alto sax for years, but I find myself leaning towards trading in my alto saxaphone for a tener one. What should I do? Will my friends accept me? I want everything to end on a good note. They say it won't matter, but will they be singing a different tune after I do it? Help me decide. I don't want to blow it. I am not sure which side would win.

I hate to blow my own horn, here. But a number of years back I had a sax change and I haven't felt so violin. As a matter of fact, I have noted that I fiddle around way less. I fret way less now, too. I haven't had to worry about my pianist since I got rid of him. I say go for it! You will welcome the interlude.

A bird bopped me on the head in my yard and said a tenor is best. So a tenor sax would getz my vote. They say every good boy does fine on a tenor.
Now I gotta swing by the pharmacy and get some aspirins from that bop on the head.

I think you should stop trying to escape the fact you are a total trans-saxual, and should switch directly to the Oboe or Bassoon. You could place a more, uh, realistic reed in your mouth, which you could constantly moisten with a back and forth motion of your head. You could continue your fingering in a manner much as you are doing now. I think you should go for the Bassoon, because it will represent ....then again, perhaps the Oboe is more your ...fit.

If your friends truly like you they will like you as you are or as the other sex. In the end it is what you want to do and you will be the one living with it. So think hard about it before you do it and spend all the money.
I'll keep this post up so we will all LOL at it. As you can tell I thought you said SEX CHANGE. LMAO
I would play which ever you like and I think your friends will still like you.

I play the Tenor Sax i love it its so much fun. your friends wont care there friends they will help u not hate you so what do u want to play. oh here are some Te nor sax brads that are great!!!!!

a tenor sax has a beautiful tone, I personally like the soprano sax

Tenor is OK.If you want a Kenny G vibe,then you should go with a soprano.But the Bari is where its at.Go with the Contra Bass.
